The calendar has claimed that Spring arrived over a week ago.
The weather guys have said the word nor’easter more this month than I’ve heard my entire life.
We’ve had tornadoes (maybe that’s spring related) and tons more gray and cloudy days than sunny.
I truly believe that Spring in my area made its appearance back in February when we had 80 degree weather (which is wonky cause I live in the South).
I’ve even heard the authorities were looking for that big hairy animal that claimed Spring would come early.
While my expectation of Spring (blankets of pollen, sneezing, sunshine consistently, buzzing bumble bees and warm weather) haven’t shown up doesn’t mean my home is lacking a Touch of Spring.
I decided I would outfit my small round dinner table with some Spring décor. I went to my favorite dollar store and purchased about $7 worth of items and made a really cute centerpiece. Using candle holder mirrors, floral foam, silk flowers and lots of hot glue I concocted this beauty in about 30 minutes.
Pictured below you’ll see dinnerware and candle holders I had on hand, cutlery, round, beige-silver placemats and a stand made from a candlestick and a silver platter.
Oh, want to know what else I did?
I placed a Touch of Spring on the outside of my home also. A couple of flowers, a grapevine wreath and a pretty bow was the perfect addition to my front door.
There’s something about crafting that makes me happy. I wholeheartedly believe if you can create items less than what you pay at the big box, then go for it! However, I would caution you, if your creation looks nothing like what you’re aiming for, just keep practicing until you get it.
So, how are you adding a Touch of Spring around your home?
I would love to help you out. On March 31, 2018 at 6:00 PM Eastern I will do a random drawing for a wreath similar to below!
